M.Clin.Dent. in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics

Entrance Requirements

All of the following requirements must be met by applicants:

Qualification and Employment Status

  • A dental qualification acceptable to the university;

  • Employment as a dentist in a dental practice, dental school, hospital, or community dental services environment.

Minimum PC Specification

  • A statement confirming that applicants meet, or will meet, the minimum PC specification before registration;

  • The written statement must accompany the application form;

  • No offer of registration can be made unless written confirmation has been received.

Access to Facilities & Equipment

  • Adequate clinical facilities and an appropriate selection of patients;

  • Approved video equipment, as part of the monitoring process (advice on this will be given in the first residential fortnight);

  • Access to an appropriate dental library.

Competence in English

  • Evidence of fluency in the English Language;

  • Pass at an acceptable level, a test of proficiency in English recognised by the University before an offer of registration can be made, where appropriate.

Disclosure

  • All students on healthcare programmes in the UK are required to complete a formal (enhanced) criminal conviction disclosure co-ordinated by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB);

  • A student who has never lived in the UK will be required to obtain equivalent information (e.g. certificate of good conduct) from the relevant authorities in the country of residence, if this is available;

  • This disclosure will have to be made prior to the residential course taking place.

Immunisation Status

If your application is successful and you are given an offer to register for the programme, you will be required to provide acceptable evidence of the  following before you are permitted to attend the residential course:

  • Progress of your immunisation programme for Hepatitis B;

  • Laboratory report detailing your Hepatitis B (Surface Antigen) and;

  • Hepatitis C (antibody) status;

  • BCG immunisation and your chickenpox, measles, mumps and rubella status.
